Pressure Is on Mexican Brewers.

The article focuses on the impact of the merger between U.S. brewing company Anheuser-Busch Cos. and the Brazilian-Belgian company InBev NV on Mexican beer companies Grupo Modelo SAB and Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB. The Mexican companies control 98% of the market and are likely to get sold as part of the global consolidation in the beer industry. It is noted that InBev will already have a 50% non-controlling stake in Modelo in its acquisition of Anheuser. Analysts note that InBev has higher capability of selling brands in markets outside the U.S
