Cemex passes emission tests with flying colors.

The article reports that Cemex, a cement manufacturer, has passed an emission test conducted by URS Corp. in Puerto Rico. The test involves the use of used tires as furnace fuel. The tests were required and audited by personnel from both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board (EQB). It measured the emissions of the smoke stacks at the cement plant using used tires in combination with coals as fuel during the cement manufacturing process.
